Doctors Medical Center considers declaring a fiscal crisis tonight
San Francisco Business Times

Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo, which filed for bankruptcy protection seven years ago, may declare a “fiscal emergency” at a special board meeting Tuesday night, hospital officials say. Last year, the troubled safety net hospital lost nearly $18 million, and it continues to lose money at the rate of $1 million a month. The San Francisco Business Times has reported frequently on the hospital’s long-term battle to stay solvent, most recently in August, when it was looking to UCSF Medical Center as a potential partner.
