A local hospital became the victim of hacking software last week, but officials stressed no patient or employee data was compromised. Desert Valley Hospital officials said a disruption of the hospital’s servers was reported last Friday. According to hospital spokesman Fred Ortega, the malware disruption was immediately addressed and contained in order to protect the integrity of the system. “Immediately upon detection, our expert in-house IT team was able to conduct procedures to mitigate and contain the disruptions,” Ortega told the Daily Press on Wednesday.
