Delving into breast cancer: ‘Survival Study’ goal is to ultimately increase survival rates in the county

Two Arcata-based organizations are working together on a study they hope will one day help lower the high breast cancer death rate in Humboldt County. The California Center for Rural Policy at Humboldt State University and the Breast and GYN Health Project recently received a $217,102 grant from the California Breast Cancer Research Program to delve into the differences between breast cancer mortality rates in Humboldt County and the rest of state.
