Delays stymie Covered California signups
San Francisco Business Times

Covered California, the Golden State’s Obamacare web site, has won plaudits for being in better shape than the feds’ Healthcare.gov site, but severe infrastructure issues are beginning to undercut that reputation.

The Los Angeles Times reports today that the Covered California exchange “is struggling to keep pace with a surge of applicants who are encountering long waits and website problems” as they scramble to meet a Dec. 23 deadline to apply for coverage. And approximately 25,000 paper applications filled out by wanna-be enrollees still haven’t been processed, according to the California Association of Health Underwriters.
