Critics of health care reform say state costs to rise

State health care reform legislation connected with the federal Affordable Care Act still could mean higher premium costs in California, despite the potential for the Supreme Court to strike down the federal law, critics charge. Even without the federal law, patients in California still would be able to access affordable insurance options through the California Health Benefit Exchange – a new state health plan structure signed into law in California in 2010 and set to take effect in 2014.
