Covered California leaps over a million sign-ups
San Francisco Business Times

Covered California raced up to the designated March 31 sign-up “deadline” for the state’s nascent health exchange with well over a million people having registered, thanks to a last-minute surge. The 1.21 million Californians who signed up for coverage early on the 31st were an increase of 275,000 from as recently as March 9.
