Covered California boots Alameda health plan from exchange

Covered California, the federally subsidized health insurance exchange that has been rattled by technical glitches and other controversies, has removed one of 12 insurance carriers from the exchange a month after the online marketplace opened for business. Alameda Alliance for Health will be removed “until further notice,” Covered California officials said Friday, because its application to sell health coverage on the commercial market has not been approved by the state.
