Covered CA targets SD neighborhoods for enrollment push
San Diego Union-Tribune

Six San Diego County neighborhoods are in the spotlight as the state’s health insurance exchange targets communities where enrollment has been lower than expected despite high concentrations of Obamacare-eligible residents. Newly released maps showing such neighborhoods across the state are a first-ever attempt by the exchange’s operator, Covered California, to bring tighter focus to its enrollment efforts as a Dec. 15 deadline looms. On Dec. 7, the exchange had tallied 83,000 new enrollments, less than half of the 295,000 low-end estimate for the 2016 coverage year, which starts on New Year’s Day.
