Community Hospital Long Beach nurses call for increased staffing, wages

Community Hospital Long Beach nurses who are locked in contract negotiations with their employer gathered Tuesday to make their case for more staffing and better wages in order to remedy what they described as unsafe conditions for patients and themselves

Nurses, who are organized under the banner of the California Nurses Association, said at a news conference that current pay levels at the east Long Beach hospitals are too low to attract or retain experienced registered nurses.
