Clinton: Polarization stunts health-care improvement

Many of the flaws associated with the launch of the website and many health insurance exchanges around the country were “predictable,” but a larger problem is on the horizon if entrenched lawmakers can’t agree on how to fix those problems, former President Bill Clinton told a gathering of medical professionals Sunday.

“The real problem is that the political polarization is such that we don’t have the consensus to fix them as quick as we should, if they require an act of Congress, for an example,” Clinton said at the Patient Safety, Science & Technology Summit, the second annual meeting aimed at reducing unnecessary patient death.
