California’s undocumented immigrants edge closer to buying health plans under Obamacare
San Bernardino Sun

A bill that paves the way for California’s undocumented immigrants to buy health plans under the Affordable Care Act was signed by Gov. Jerry Brown Friday, and now awaits federal approval.

The governor’s signature means California is one of the first states to ask the federal government to waive a major provision under the Affordable Care Act. It also would be the first state to give undocumented immigrants the opportunity to purchase unsubsidized health plans on Covered California, the exchange set up under the Affordable Care Act.
