California regulator finds Blue Cross violations
Sacramento Bee - Mark Glover

California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner said Monday an investigation has turned up more than 700 claims-handling violations by Anthem Blue Cross, California’s largest for-profit health insurer. Poizner said the company faces a maximum penalty of $10,000 for each violation. He said the allegations follow an investigation by his office into consumer complaints filed against Anthem from 2006 through 2009.
