Cal Pacific hospital deal puts SF ahead

A new deal with California Pacific Medical Center to build two seismically safe hospitals puts the city in a better position to implement federal health care reform and serve thousands of expected new residents in eastern and southern neighborhoods, officials said Tuesday. “This is a tremendous day for the future health of San Francisco,” said Board of Supervisors President David Chiu, who with Supervisors Mark Farrell and David Campos formed an unlikely team of different political stripes that represented the city in laborious negotiations over the past five months.
