Brown proposes budget that tackles Medi-Cal funding, infrastructure repair and more
Los Angeles Business Journal

Gov. Jerry Brown released a $170.6 billion state spending plan on Thursday that increases general-fund spending by over $10 billion from the current year, thanks to surpluses from a resurgent state economy. The budget, which includes $122.6 billion for the general fund, directs $2 billion to the state’s rainy-day reserve, building it to $8 billion by next year. It also included a big dose of new funding for infrastructure repair and proposes a solution to the state’s Medi-Cal funding challenges.
