Big decisions ahead for Castro Street, El Camino Hospital
Mountain View VOICE

In what is certain to be a lively meeting, the City Council on Wednesday will make a long-awaited decision on how Castro Street should be reconfigured, or closed, to make way for the Caltrain crossing.

At the special June 22 meeting, the council will also consider a dramatic expansion at the El Camino Hospital that would add more than 300,000 square feet to the facility. Mountain View officials have for years been studying a so-called grade separation to split Castro Street so it no longer runs across the Caltrain track.
