Anthem Blue Cross delays cancellations of policies
San Francisco Chronicle

Anthem Blue Cross of California on Tuesday became the second health insurer in the state in the past week to postpone the cancellation of some of its policies that don’t comply with the standards set by the Affordable Care Act.

The delay means 104,000 of Anthem’s individual policyholders will be able to stay on their current plans until Feb. 28 instead of Dec. 31, the deadline set by the federal health law.

The temporary reprieve will apply to policyholders who were not notified that their current policies would be canceled within the proper time frame established by state law.
