Americans better off because of ACA, Democrats say

In the face of a slow economic recovery, the healthcare law gives Democrats a way to show the electorate that they are better off than they were four years ago, party leaders told party activists Wednesday at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

“Every American is better off today than they were four years ago,” House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland said when speaking about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act at a gathering of activists and party leaders who pushed enactment of the law.
