Times-Standard

The Wharfinger Building was packed Monday for a California Attorney General’s Office public meeting and hearing about the proposed merger of two faith-based, nonprofit health care companies: St. Joseph Health System, which runs both St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka and Redwood Memorial Hospital in Fortuna, and Providence Health & Services.

Deputy Attorney General Scott Chan and MDS Consulting Senior Vice President Phil Dalton, who is with the firm that put together the report about the effects of the proposed move, moderated the hearing.
