Affordable Care Act leaves out many in state

No matter how successfully President Barack Obama remedies the Affordable Care Act, more than 1 million California residents will be unable to purchase insurance.

That’s because undocumented immigrants, who make up roughly one-seventh of the 7 million people in the state without insurance, are explicitly excluded from participating in the insurance exchanges created by the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
