Affordable Care Act: Help for the HIV-positive
The Desert Sun

Nicholas Snow, 51, was diagnosed as HIV-positive in August 2007, living in Thailand as a foreign correspondent. He was scared — 8,000 miles away from home and without health insurance or a support system to help him cope with a disease that requires complex layers of treatment and expensive medications.

Ready to take control of his health, Snow decided to move back to the U.S., heading to Palm Springs in 2011. He wanted to become a patient at Desert AIDS Project, part of the valley’s strong network of care for HIV and AIDS patients.
