Adoption of electronic health records reaches tipping point
Sacramento Business Journal

More than half of all doctors and other eligible providers have received Medicare or Medicaid incentive payments for adopting or meaningfully using electronic health records, federal health officials announced Wednesday. More than 27,500 providers in California got a total of about $1.2 billion for their efforts. Federal health officials have met and exceeded their goal for 50 percent of doctors’ offices and 80 percent of eligible hospitals to have electronic health records by the end of 2013.
