Los Angeles officials are considering adding 150 more beds at the severely overcrowded County-USC Medical Center. The Los Angeles Times reports the hospital, opened in 2008, has experienced emergency room wait times that average 12 hours. The newspaper says County-USC has 600 inpatient beds, 224 fewer than the aging general hospital tower it replaced.
