December 15 Listening Session in San Francisco

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will host a listening session December 15 on health care delivery system reform. The session will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at The Westin St. Francis Hotel, 335 Powell Street, San Francisco, CA 94102.

The session, co-hosted by CMS Regional Administrator David Sayen and Health and Human Services Regional Director Herb Schultz, will feature CMS Administrator Donald Berwick, MD; Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation Acting Director Richard Gilfillan, MD; and Federal Coordinated Health Care Office Director Melanie Bella.

The listening session will highlight the important work CMS is undertaking regarding health care delivery system reform. The Affordable Care Act has given CMS new opportunities to improve the care delivery and payment system. CMS will spotlight three areas of interest:

  • Accountable Care Organization Shared Savings Program
  • Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation
  • Federal Coordinated Health Care Office

CMS looks forward to receiving input from hospitals on these three areas. Therefore, the listening session will provide an opportunity for interested parties to make verbal statements. Remarks should be kept to no more than five minutes.
