Join fellow hospital leaders in Sacramento for this vital advocacy program.

CHA is pleased to announce that Hugh Hewitt, a three-time Emmy award winner and broadcast journalist, is the keynote for the education program. His nationally syndicated radio show is heard by more than 2 million listeners every weekday afternoon. Hewitt has conducted groundbreaking interviews with government officials from both parties and widely respected analysts, authors and pundits.

Members are invited to attend this informational briefing on the legislative process and CHA’s advocacy process.

4:00 – 5:30 p.m. | VIP Tour of the State Capitol
Join CHA’s lobbyists for a private, behind-the-scenes tour of the State Capitol.

4:00 – 5:30 p.m. | Team Leader Briefing
Prepare for the legislative visits by taking a closer look at CHA’s top legislative priorities. Issue experts will be on hand to answer questions and explain the implications of proposed legislation to hospitals. Meeting protocol, talking points and “leave behind” materials will be reviewed. All members are encouraged to attend.

5:30 – 6:30 p.m. | Government Relations/Welcome Reception

Three-time Emmy winner and political commentator Hugh Hewitt will share his perspectives on today’s political landscape and what he predicts may be on the horizon.

Attendees will meet with their legislative representatives during the afternoon to collectively advocate on key issues of critical importance to hospitals. Appointments for the meetings will be made by CHA on behalf of the members.

Appointments

After attendees register for the program, CHA’s advocacy staff will schedule appointments with members of the Legislature on their behalf — primarily group meetings with other hospital executives from their area. Scheduling will be coordinated with input from the Regional Associations. Hospital executives are asked not to schedule meetings directly with representatives.

Attendees who would like appointments with specific legislators other than their own may indicate their requests when registering. Every effort will be made to accommodate these requests.

To facilitate the scheduling of appointments, members are strongly encouraged to register by February 26. The schedule of appointments will be emailed to all registrants one week prior to the program.

Tuition

This program is exclusively for executives of CHA-member hospitals. the deadline to register is February 26. To facilitate the scheduling of meetings with legislators, members are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

Confirmations

A confirmation will be emailed to all registrants.

Cancellation Policy

A $50 non-refundable processing fee will be retained for each cancellation received in writing by March 8. No refunds will be made after this date. Substitutions are encouraged. Cancellation and substitution notification may be emailed to education@calhospital.org.

Transportation:
