Health Policy Legislative Day
Advocating for patients and your hospitals

March 18 & 19, 2014
Sacramento, California

2014 is shaping up to be a transformative year for California hospitals, with implementation of the Affordable Care Act, proposed ballot initiatives and impending legislation. The need for sound policies and adequate funding could not be greater. Hospital leaders are urged to come to Sacramento to meet with elected representatives. It is crucial that legislators understand the role hospitals play within communities, and how their votes will impact access to care.

Plan now to join fellow hospital leaders for this important advocacy program.

All program events will be held at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento.

Attendees will meet with their legislative representatives during the afternoon to collectively advocate on key issues of critical importance to hospitals. Appointments for the meetings will be made by CHA on behalf of the members.

After attendees register for the program, CHA’s advocacy staff will schedule appointments with members of the Legislature on their behalf — primarily group meetings with other hospital executives from their area. Scheduling will be coordinated with input from the Regional Associations. Hospital executives are asked not to schedule meetings directly with representatives.

Attendees who would like appointments with specific legislators other than their own may indicate their requests when registering. Every effort will be made to accommodate these requests.

To facilitate the scheduling of appointments, members are strongly encouraged to register by February 21. The schedule of appointments will be emailed to all registrants one week prior to the program.

If you have any questions about the appointments or have other special requests, please contact your regional hospital association vice president or Patricia Ward at the CHA offices at or (916) 552-7526.

This program is for executives of CHA-member hospitals only and the deadline to register is February 21. To enable the scheduling of meetings with legislators, registrations received before the deadline are discounted.

Member rate, by Feb. 21: $235
Member rate, after Feb. 21: $335

A confirmation will be emailed to all registrants.
