Strikes loom at Bay Area hospitals
San Francisco Business Times

Two of the region’s feistiest unions — the California Nurses Association and the National Union of Healthcare Workers — are threatening short strikes at some of the Bay Area’s largest hospital systems this month, a sign that organized labor is getting increasingly fed up with recession-fueled concessions. Together, the two unions represent 21,000 nurses and other clinical and support workers at Kaiser Permanente , including 17,000 CNA nurses and 4,000 clinical and other workers in NUHW.
