Stanislaus cancer clinic in jeopardy
Modesto Bee

With Stanislaus County’s oncologist leaving to open a private practice, officials will consider closing their public cancer clinic.

The clinic, in a wing of the former county hospital on Scenic Drive in Modesto, served 734 low-income patients making 4,299 visits last year. By law, the county was required to help only 65 of the poorest, or less than 9 percent.
