Employers get money back from Blue Shield
Sacramento Business Journal

Blue Shield of California will return $6.9 million to 2,049 businesses in the Sacramento region next month in the form of a premium credit. The average amount will be $3,300. Another $1.3 million will go to 335,000 individual health plan members in the region, with an average premium credit of $90. The payback is part of a pledge by the health plan to cap its profit margin at 2 percent of revenue and return any additional income to customers, health care providers and nonprofit organizations that provide health care to low-income Californians.
