Desert Regional Medical Center will open its new Joint & Spine Pavilion today.

The $7 million, 9,448-square-foot facility will begin accepting patients next month. It is designed to offer a specialized program for patients who undergo spine or joint replacement surgery, according to the hospital. “We wanted to create an experience for the patient that allowed for no gaps in the continuum of care,” said Deborah McCoy, director of Desert Regional’s Institute of Clinical Orthopedics and Neurosciences.
