Court makes preliminary ruling on autism treatment by HMOs
Sacramento Business Journal

A Sacramento Superior Court judge issued a tentative ruling Wednesday that denies an attempt by the HMO industry to get quick resolution over whether health plans must cover a controversial treatment for autism patients. If the ruling holds after limited argument in court Thursday, the matter will proceed to trial. Judge Shelleyanne Chang concluded in the tentative ruling that the California Association of Health Plans did not satisfy its burden of proving the law is clear on the issue, there are disputed matters and the lawsuit should continue.
