Consumers see hospital prices rise 0.6% in August

Consumer hospital prices increased 0.6% in August, according to seasonally adjusted figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The price gain was little changed from the 0.5% increase in July and the 0.5% increase in August 2010. For the 12-month period ended in August, consumer hospital prices, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, increased 7% compared with 6.9% a year ago.
