Blue Shield refunds coming soon
Orange County Register

Orange County residents covered by Blue Shield insurance plans soon will receive letters informing them of the amount of money that will be credited back to them, company officials said. In June, the nonprofit insurer said it would cap profits at 2 percent of revenue. Any excess would be refunded to policy holders. The refund will show up on October bills as a credit of 10 to 30 percent of one month’s premium. Statewide, Blue Shield will return $167 million.
