General Information

Writer/Editor

We currently have a great opportunity for an ambitious professional with 3+ years’ experience in editing communications, preferably with political, advocacy, health care, and/or non-profit organizations.  The writer/editor will be responsible for identifying, developing, writing, and editing numerous communications materials, for print and digital media, in a deadline-responsive manner. This includes, but is not limited to, advocacy communications materials, memos, letters, and a twice weekly member newsletter. Experience with advocacy writing (op-eds, legislative testimony, talking points) a plus. This position is both a wordsmith and a grammar and style guru, but also understands and appreciates the impact that well-executed communications can have in shaping people’s ideas.

The successful candidate will have experience in a professional office setting — a degree in communications,  journalism, public relations, public policy, advertising or related field;  strong understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn and others; proficiency with MS Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; excellent communications skills, both verbal and written; ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines; persuasive storytelling and writing for multiple voices/brands; and a positive “can-do” attitude.

Why should you consider joining our team?  We offer competitive pay, generous benefits, and a terrific, team-oriented environment focused on improving the access and quality of health care.
