Vice President Quality
Sacramento, CA

CHA is seeking a full time Vice President Quality to provide advocacy and support for quality programs and issues affecting California hospitals and health systems.  The goal of this position is to work with member hospitals in a collaborative manner to ensure that quality of care is brought to the highest operational priority.  This includes acting as a resource for members; identifying quality improvement best-practices, models, and other proven and effective strategies; providing assistance to members seeking to expand their quality efforts; enabling peer-to-peer connectivity to facilitate learning and sharing of experiences; and bringing practitioners and industry leaders together to share knowledge and to foster innovations in quality.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a clinical practice or public health management field.  Registered nurse license is preferred.  Other requirements include:

- Minimum of five years’ healthcare quality management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of the critical quality management components, research, best practices, and processes within hospitals.
- Demonstrated ability to bring together diverse groups in a collaborative and effective manner.
- Thorough understanding of the leadership challenges and processes inside hospitals.
- Must have outstanding oral, written, and public speaking communication skills.
- Experience and capability of communicating effectively at the CEO/Board of Directors level.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects, turning concept into reality.
- Ability to organize, plan, work independently, handle multiple projects and work well under pressure.
- Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
- Ability and willingness to collaborate and be a team member in the CHA-Regional Associations model.
- Ability and willingness to work long and irregular hours.
- Ability and willingness to travel overnight.
