Research and Data Analyst
Sacramento, CA

The Research and Data Analyst is primarily responsible for providing hospital data and analysis to CHA staff, member hospitals, public agencies, and regional association partners with the purpose of educating others and presenting accurate information in support of advocacy efforts. Duties include researching and responding to data and analysis needs of California hospitals; analyzing data to prepare reports and studies for use by others; preparing reports, updating presentations, and presenting data to answer inquiries; maintaining recipient database, coordinating with membership lists, and maintaining email distribution database; and providing technical assistance to members on information and data.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Social Science, Public Health or Statistics
  • At least three years of directly related training or experience providing analysis and reports for management’s use
  • Strong knowledge of hospital finance and reimbursement methods and regulations
  • Advanced skill level using MS Office software programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
  • Ability to transform raw data into an accurate and useful format
  • Ability to effectively communicate with end-users in an informative, non-technical, non-threatening manner
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters in a professional manner
  • Ability to work on multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
