Payroll Specialist

The California Hospital Association is the statewide leader representing the interests of hospitals, health systems, and other health care providers in California.  CHA includes nearly 400 hospital members and provides members with state and federal representation and advocacy in the legislative and regulatory arenas.

We are currently looking for a payroll specialist who will be responsible for preparing and processing payroll.  Other responsibilities include:  preparing payroll journal entries, reconciling various bank accounts other than payroll, performing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, handling IRS payroll tax issues, providing support to accounting staff as time permits.

To be successful, you will need to have the following education, skills and talents:

Experience with ADP Workforce Now.

Minimum of AA degree in related field.

Three years prior payroll experience.

General familiarity with accounting concepts.

Strong computer skills required.  Proficiency in Excel and ADP.

Excellent communication skills and customer service attitude.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Problem-solving orientation.

Willingness to learn and can-do attitude.
