External Affairs/Digital Advocacy Administrative Assistant

We currently have a great opportunity for an experienced administrative assistant with strong writing skills to support our External Affairs and Digital Advocacy departments.  Duties include, but are not limited to: composition and transcription, word processing; writing and proofreading of press releases and other materials, website posting and maintenance, social media outreach assistance, making travel arrangements, file maintenance, answering phone calls for supervisors, including calls from the media; processing of mail and invoices, and assistance with daily news clippings.  This position is responsible for various meetings set-up and coordination; database list management and assistance with PowerPoint presentation.


The successful candidate will have prior administrative support experience in a professional office setting, preferably in a public relations/communications firm or department; experience  with social media outreach campaigns; proficiency with MS Office software; excellent communication, both orally and in writing; ability to write press releases; customer service skills; professional handling of telephone calls; ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials in a professional manner; ability to organize and be detail-oriented, plan, manage time, and work independently; ability to adapt well to changing priorities with a positive attitude; and a terrific “can-do” attitude.
