The California Hospital Association Political Action Committee (CHPAC) provides campaign financing to officeholders and candidates who are committed to better health care for all Californians.  CHPAC is an important component of CHA’s legislative advocacy program; it exists to raise money in order to elect, educate and build rapport with elected leaders and officials who understand the important role hospitals play in our state.  CHPAC solicits contributions from concerned individuals and companies across the state. 
CHA is seeking a full-time Executive Director for CHPAC.  This non-partisan position is responsible for organizing and managing the statewide operations for CHPAC and CHPAC-FED and meeting the annual fundraising goal.   This includes designing and implementing fundraising strategies; developing, implementing and managing all communication materials; providing appropriate information and liaison efforts between CHA, regional associations and other stakeholder groups; coordinating and hosting fundraising events throughout California featuring legislators, and regularly communicating fundraising goals and progress reports.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in management, public relations/communications, or political science.  Other requirements include:

- Extensive knowledge of FEC and FPPC regulations and requirements
- Significant hands-on fundraising experience in a political environment
- Political astuteness
- Basic understanding of health policy, governmental structure and legislative mechanics
- Ability to interact effectively in a professional manner with a variety of groups and individuals including government agencies and officials, members, boards, committees, advisory groups, professional organizations and consultants
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to research and analyze data
- Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook; experience with database systems preferred. 
- Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail
- Ability to organize, plan, and be effective at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven, and constantly changing environment
- Ability to work independently, using initiative and excellent judgment
- Ability and willingness to collaborate and be a team member in the CHA-Regional Associations model
- Ability and willingness to work long and irregular hours with occasional overnight travel
