Executive Assistant

The California Hospital Association (CHA) is the statewide leader representing the interests of hospitals and health systems in California and provides members with state and federal representation and advocacy in the legislative and regulatory arenas through an agenda designed to improve access to quality, cost-effective health care services.

We are looking for an Executive Assistant position to provide high level administrative support to the association’s executive operations, including performing a wide variety of governance and support duties related to the Boards of Trustees.  This position requires the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects amidst frequent priority changes; a high level of initiative, professionalism, discretion, and judgment; and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  The person in this position works in close cooperation with the Assistant to the President and the Office of the President’s Executive Assistant.  This includes providing mutual back-up coverage and support as needed.

The successful candidate will be a high school graduate or equivalent; have a minimum of ten years of administrative support experience in a professional setting with at least five years as an executive-level assistant preferred, experience in a health care, legislative or association environment preferred; hands on experience supporting boards, managing corporate governance, and planning and managing multi-day meetings; outstanding customer service orientation; demonstrated ability to compose and proofread a variety of documents with accuracy, often under time pressure; ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials with discretion and in a professional manner; ability to  organize, plan, work on multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines all under pressure in a fast-paced environment; be extremely organized and detail-oriented; ability to follow directions and work effectively with minimal supervision; excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; must be a willing and effective CHA/CAHHS/Regional Association team member; Advanced-level skill with Windows-based software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;  Experience with Board Effect or similar software is preferred; ability to travel overnight on an occasional basis.
