Director Quality Improvement Network Facilitation

We are currently looking for experienced hospital quality professionals to serve as Director Quality Improvement Network Facilitators in field based positions located out of a home office, providing support for the California Hospital Engagement Network.  These are roles that will be filled across the state of California.

In this position, you will ensure hospitals achieve success in the area of patient safety, including reducing all hospital acquired conditions, obstetrical harm, readmissions, and developing an organizational culture focused on patient safety.

  This involves developing detailed individual hospital improvement plans; convening resources and teams; ensuring the execution of the project plan; tracking and documenting project results and supporting the collection of other data. Other duties include providing hospitals with technical and implementation support, including consults and training/education where identified; acting as a lead safety culture trainer for hospitals; and providing program compliance, clinical improvement guidance and technical assistance for the successful implementation of the project.

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field, at least 5 years of clinical work experience and at least 10 years of experience with progressive responsibility leading healthcare quality improvement activities and organizational change.  He/she must also have additional training or certification in quality/patient safety improvement and experience implementing and training to create rapid cycle change and patient safety cultures in hospitals.  This position requires extensive interaction with participating hospitals, topic experts, association staff and external stakeholders, including travel to meetings and required one-on-one hospital visits.  Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must. 

This position is funded by a grant from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Partnership for Patients Initiative under the coordination of the American Hospital Association Health Research and Educational Trust.
