General Information


CHA is seeking a full-time, seasoned Controller to oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant administration, and reporting activities. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and supervise a staff of 9.

This position requires a CPA license.  Other requirements include:

Minimum of ten years of hands-on accounting experience, with at least five years at the controller level.  Minimum of five years’ experience leading an accounting team
Proven track record of leading and motivating a team.  Experience in a multi-company environment.  Solid understanding of GAAP.  Strong knowledge and experience with all aspects of month-end closings, general ledger reconciliation and financial statement preparation.  Non-profit and grant accounting experience preferred.  Treasury experience strongly preferred.  Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and computerized GL system;  Great Plains experience strongly preferred.  Excellent organization skills.  Strong customer service orientation.  Ability to organize, plan, and be effective at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven, and constantly changing environment.  Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to work independently, exercise initiative and excellent judgment.  Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals and organizations
