Cal EMA Announces RFP for Medical Training Center
Letters of intent to apply are due July 1

The California Emergency Management Agency (Cal EMA) will release a request for proposal July 7 to fund a statewide hospital-based training center under the Medical Training Center Program. The deadline for applicants to notify Cal EMA of their intent to compete for funding is July 1.

The grant will ensure forensic medical examinations are conducted in a standardized, consistent and quality manner by training medical personnel performing the examinations.

Applicants must demonstrate experience or expertise in 1) developing and implementing medical evidentiary training for sexual assault (including child sexual abuse), domestic violence, elder and child abuse; 2) implementing training for related disciplines on evidentiary examinations and interpretation of findings; 3) convening advisory committees relevant to the program; and 4) updating and training on statutorily mandated forms relevant to the program.
