Accounting Specialist

The California Hospital Association is the statewide leader representing the interests of hospitals, health systems, and other health care providers in California.  CHA includes nearly 400 hospital members and provides members with state and federal representation and advocacy in the legislative and regulatory arenas.

We are currently looking for an accounting specialist who will perform complex clerical and entry-level accounting duties.  This includes: compiling and reviewing source documents such as invoices or cash receipts for completeness and accuracy.  Verifies and posts details of business transactions to appropriate ledgers and journals. Files and maintains clerical records or reports relating to accounting.  Mails a/p checks and customer invoices. Reconciles accounts monthly.

To be successful, you will need to have the following education, skills and talents:

High School graduate, completion or current enrollment in college level accounting courses preferred.

One or more years experience working in an office setting doing related work or equivalent combination of education and experience.

General familiarity with accounting concepts.

Experience using Excel, Word and computerized accounting systems.

Excellent communication skills and customer service attitude.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Problem-solving orientation.

Willingness to learn and can-do attitude.
