Hospital Leadership Conference Will Include Track on Hospital Retail
December 3, 2010

The 2011 CAHHS Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference will include a retail track highlighting how a single hospital gift shop can increase sales, profitability and overall customer satisfaction by applying sophisticated retail science to operations.

“The hospital retail movement is exploding,” said hospital retail expert Mindy Thompson. “All gift shop volunteers, directors and employees can be the foundation for improved retail opportunities, and deliver exceptional value to their hospital.”

The conference retail track will feature 45 exhibitors, a buyers’ breakfast, exhibitor lunch, six retail workshops, multiple roundtables and a spotlight on California’s best hospital gift shops. Attendees will learn how to enhance existing gift shops by adding in-store concept shops, feature areas, and new health and care products, as well as better utilizing existing space. Studies of patient shopping behaviors will illustrate how to support patient care by adding health and care, and cash and carry products.

The 2011 CAHHS Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference will be held Feb. 21-24 at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in Los Angeles. To register for the conference and for full program details, visit www.calhospital.org/volunteerconference
