CHA Executive Briefing to Analyze CBO Estimate of American Health Care Act
A CHA members-only briefing

March 17, 2017
8:30 – 9:30 a.m., Pacific Time
A complimentary, CHA members-only briefing

On March 13, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released an analysis of the Republican House plan to partially replace the Affordable Care Act. The CBO estimate is an important step in the legislative process and one that lawmakers will rely on to determine the potential impact of legislation. Response to the nonpartisan CBO analysis has been swift and varied from both sides of the aisle and the White House.

CHA is analyzing the CBO estimate and other data to assess the impact of the proposed legislation. An executive briefing will be held on Friday, March 17 from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. to explain what has been learned to date and the potential impact on California’s hospitals and their communities.

The briefing will be presented by Anne O’Rourke, CHA’s senior vice president for federal relations, based in Washington, DC. She will recap the week’s activities and lay out what to expect as Republicans move the legislation forward through House debate and vote. Anne McLeod, CHA’s senior vice president for health policy and innovation, will take a deeper look at the costs, and present models demonstrating the impact on the Medicaid budget, bad debt and charity care, and potential Medi-Cal reduction.

CHA encourages leadership to gather teams together to hear this important update. There is no fee for this CHA members-only briefing; however, registration is required. Participants will be able to ask questions by telephone or online.
