Significant, new amendments were made to the Medical Waste Management Act that took effect Jan. 1, 2015.  These changes affect the daily operations of hospitals and their handling and disposal of medical waste.

Cancellation Policy/Late Payment: A $50 non-refundable processing fee will be retained for each cancellation. Cancellations must be made in writing seven or more business days prior to the scheduled session and faxed to (916) 552-7506 or e-mailed to education@calhospital.org. No refunds will be made after these dates. Substitutions are encouraged. Please note: payment is due on or before program. Payments not received by the seminar date will be subject to a 10% late fee. In the unlikely event the program is cancelled, CHA will fully refund paid participants within 30 days.

CDPH Stakeholder Meetings

Important Note:  The CDPH meetings listed below are separate from CHA’s webinar. For information regarding the CDPH meetings, contact: Shannon George at (916) 449-5590.

All individuals responsible for medical waste management at hospitals are encouraged to attend at least one of the CDPH meetings. These meetings are being held in accordance with AB 333 (Chapter 564, Statutes of 2014), the Medical Waste Management Act, to gather input on the interaction of federal and state law for the transport of regulated medical waste. CDPH will use the information gathered at the meetings to inform a report that must be submitted, according to AB 333, to the Legislature by Jan. 2, 2016.
