California Congressional Action Program
advocating for patients and your hospitals

CHA California Congressional Action Program

April 25 – 28, 2010
Washington, D.C.

Overview

This program is a once-a-year opportunity for all California hospitals to collectively share their stories with federal elected officials. Hospitals see the need for health care reform every day and remain committed to working toward universal coverage for the benefit of patients.

Key legislative and regulatory priorities at the federal level include:

  • Extending the Federal Medical Assistance Percentages (FMAPs) rate increase through June 2011
  • Improving access to health information technology by extending deadlines and modifying the “meaningful use” requirements
  • Protecting Medicare and Medicaid patients through preservation of payments to hospitals
  • Supporting universal coverage
  • Supporting delivery system reform through alignment of incentives and removal of barriers to integrated care

Held in conjunction with the American Hospital Association’s Annual Meeting, the program is also a great opportunity to network with peers from other states. Separate registration is required for AHA’s meeting; please visit their website at www.aha.org for details.
