Wholesale hospital prices edge up in February

Wholesale acute-care hospital prices were up 0.1% in February after remaining flat the month before, preliminary figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Producer Price Index show. Physician-office wholesale prices also increased 0.1% last month following a 0.2% increase in January, according to preliminary figures. In February 2011, prices increased 0.4%. In the year that ended last month, physician office wholesale prices increased 1.2%, less than the 1.9% climb seen the prior year.
