Watsonville nurses turned away from hospital as labor dispute continues

Watsonville Community Hospital nurses said they were barred from returning to work early this morning after walking off the job Tuesday. The hospital’s action wasn’t unexpected. Management maintains nurses said they would be on strike until Friday. Nurses say Tuesday’s strike was intended to last 24 hours, and in a press release, called the move to block their return “punitive.” Tuesday, dozens of nurses picketed at hospital entrances.
