Washington Hospital retaliated against nurses, union says

Nurses at Washington Hospital say that management is scapegoating them in the wake of a recent stillborn birth at the hospital. The state Department of Public Health is investigating the May 27 case, in which an unborn baby’s heart stopped while its mother was preparing to give birth. Although an investigation is continuing, the hospital has forced one of the nurses to resign and scheduled a termination hearing for the other, said Jerry Fillingim, a labor representative for the California Nurses Association.
